How to add Ground News to your desktop

Creating a desktop shortcut for Ground News allows you to quickly access the site directly from your desktop. The steps vary depending on which browser you are using. To get started, follow the instructions below for your preferred browser.

For Google Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome and navigate to Ground News.

  2. Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner to open the menu.

  3. Select "Shave and share" and then "Create shortcut".

  4. In the popup window, you can edit the shortcut name if desired.

  5. Check the box that says "Open as window" if you want the shortcut to open in a separate window rather than a tab.

  6. Click Create. The shortcut will now appear on your desktop.

For Safari (MacOS)

  1. Open Safari and navigate to Ground News.

  2. Resize your browser window so you can see both the Safari window and your desktop.

  3. Click the URL in the address bar and drag it to your desktop.

  4. This will create a shortcut on your desktop.

For Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox and navigate to Ground News.

  2. Resize your browser window so you can see both the Firefox window and your desktop.

  3. Click the site icon (the lock symbol) in the address bar and drag it to your desktop.

  4. This will create a shortcut on your desktop.

For Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and navigate to Ground News.

  2. Click the three horizontal dots in the top-right corner to open the menu.

  3. Select "Apps" and then Install this site as an app.

  4. In the popup window, you can edit the name of the shortcut if desired.

  5. Click "Install". The shortcut will now appear on your desktop.

For Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer and navigate to Ground News.

  2. Right-click anywhere on the page and select Create shortcut from the context menu.

  3. Click "Yes" when asked if you want to create a shortcut on your desktop.
