Do you ever feel inundated with news topics that don't pique your interest? We get it. That's why we've developed a feature on Ground News that empowers you to customize your news feed according to your preferences. With our "Show Me Less" feature, you can ensure you see more of what you love and less of what you don't. Here's how to make the most of it:
On the Mobile App
Click on the three-dot menu to access the option to "Show Me Less."
This action will open a menu where you can select specific topics you're not interested in seeing. Simply check off the boxes for the topics you'd like to see less of.
If you open the menu and find that there's nothing you want to hide, you can simply close it, and no changes will be saved.
On the Website
While browsing the website, if you come across an article you wish to see less of, look for the block icon next to the headline.
Click on the block icon, and it will open a menu where you can select specific topics you're not interested in seeing. Simply check off the boxes for the topics you'd like to see less of.
If you open the menu and find that there's nothing you want to hide, you can simply close it, and no changes will be saved.
Reporting Missing Topics
If you notice a particular topic that you'd like to hide isn't currently available in the "Show Me Less" list, don't worry. Simply report the issue to our team, and we'll investigate and consider adding the topic to enhance your curation experience in the future.
You can report missing topics by using the "Report an issue" button on the mobile app (accessible via the 3 dot menu) or the website (accessible by clicking the flag icon next to a story's headline).
All reports are referenced to improve the overall news feed quality.
Can I remove topics from my "Show me less" list?
Yes, if you change your mind about your hidden topics or blocked sources, you can always manage them later.
In the mobile app: Navigate to Profile > My Activity > Manage Sources & Topics to manage your preferences.
On the website: Click on this link to navigate to the Manage Sources & Topics menu on your Ground News web account.
